Empowering Futures, Driving Change.
Since launching in 2020, Powering Futures has worked with more than 5,000 young people and engaged with over than 180 Scottish businesses.
86 secondary schools across Scotland are currently participating in Powering Futuresβ SCQF accredited programme, with a further 70 schools registered for academic year 2025/26 β thatβs nearly 50% of schools in the country.
Businesses and volunteers are now partnered with schools and engaging with them at regular intervals throughout.
Of the young workers who have taken part in the programme in businesses, many have been promoted - increasing influence on their companyβs sustainability processes.
Vitally, many participating businesses have implemented solutions presented by their young colleagues demonstrating the power of authentic engagement, such as Lothian Buses, Booth Welsh, Scottish Water and Petroineos.
