The Tayside Circular Economy Challenge.

11th FEBRUARY 2025, 6 WEEKS (2-3 HRS PER WEEK), ONLINE

Places for organisations located in the Angus, Dundee City and Perth & Kinross regions are fully funded by Zero Waste Scotland.

Drive efficiency. Design out waste.

The Tayside Circular Economy Challenge is a programme to help businesses in the Tayside region identify and implement sustainable solutions to boost their bottom line and further their net zero ambitions.

On the programme your young employees (aged 16-24) take on a sustainability challenge set by your business or organisation to create an actionable business case, helping to create real impact whilst they develop real-world problem-solving skills.

The programme will be delivered through a combination of webinars, online learning and engagement with industry experts, with flexible delivery designed to fit around normal working requirements

WHAT IS A CHALLENGE?

A challenge is a sustainability issue or opportunity your organisation has been considering but hasn’t yet figured out the next steps.

Examples include:

Reducing or repurposing waste

Sourcing sustainable materials

Changing or developing business processes to reduce your carbon footprint

It doesn’t need to be fully defined or have all the details mapped out, what matters is that it’s a real issue your business wants to address. All you need to give them is a short description, who your participants should speak to and any important things to consider. Then on the programme your young employees explore the challenge, ideate on solutions, and identify an actionable next step.
